Lark is a one year old female Yorkie who was surrendered by her owner to a shelter stating they had no time for her, she is currently in foster care.  She is approximately 6 lbs, has a natural tail, heartworm negative, current on all vaccines, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped.

A sweet girl who likes to be cuddled and will stay quite happily in your arms for as long as you will let her, she is a little shy when she first meets people, but after she warms up can be quite the personality.  She tends to prefer dogs closer to her size and is so-so about cats. She does fine in the car and walks okay on a leash. A tenacious and curious girl, she is active and likes to explore and investigate things. An ideal home for Lark will be a calm environment with a loving and responsible family who has small dog experience, no small children.  She is crate-trained and working on her house-training, she might piddle a tiny tiny bit when she gets excited. An active girl who will appreciate walks and your attention. She is a bit of a "velcro" dog and will be a little shadow at times.  She can be vocal at times, (not yappy though). If she has already been fed and gone potty and is then is confined and does not want to be, she will whine for a bit, but eventually will quiet down (need to make sure the whining is not due to having to go potty).

Lark will require regular grooming every six-eight weeks at a groomer's, the cost is approximately $40-$60, her coat requires brushing at least every couple of days or it can get matted. Please take grooming costs into consideration when contemplating adoption.

Please take into consideration that there is a transition period for any newly adopted animal. It can be house-trained or crate-trained in a foster environment but when it goes to a new place there is whole new schedule to learn, a new lifestyle to become accustomed to, new rules, new home/yard layout, so expect that there WILL be accidents. If this is not something that you are willing to work through, than you may not be ready to adopt an animal at this time.  Just something to think about when you are considering adoption. No animal is perfect including the human ones.

Her adoption fee is $150.
